Kathmandu, May 31 (RSS): Leader of Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) Narayankaji Shrestha has said that it would take some time for the establishment of socialism in the country.
Concluding the international seminar of ‘Marxism and Socialism’ held in Kathmandu on the occasion of bicentenary of Karl Marx, the Spokesperson of CPN said that socialism would be established a bit late since it would take some more time for the development of infrastructures needed for socialism.
“The communist movement and the nation would suffer if the incumbent communist government failed to do something for the people. So, we must be successful to do something new in the country,” Shrestha added.
He also argued that the CPN was the world’s largest communist party that emerged on the basis of multiparty competition.
Saying that the country needs to be advanced through the Marxist philosophy as per current situation, he shared that development of Marxism was needed along with the development of information technology.
On the occasion, Foreign Affairs Minister Pradip Kumar Gyawali said that Marxism is a pragmatic and scientific thought and they have used Marxism based on necessity since Nepal’s communist movement was unique with its own context.
The two-day conference concluded Thursday issuing a 6-point declaration, offering vote of thanks for the unification of two major communist parties of Nepal. The communist leaders from 22 different countries participated in the programme.
