Kathmandu, May 26 (RSS): The domestic share market recorded turnover worth Rs 1,922,731,000 this week.
According to the Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (Nepse), 4,137,430 units of share of a total 183 companies were traded in the domestic share market in this week. Previous week index showed that 2,329,440 units of share of a total 176 companies were traded and the turnover was Rs 1,081,941,000.
The share market was closed at 1398.22 points by sliding by 20.97 points compared to the opening day this week. The ‘sensitive index’ that is used to measure the share value of ‘A’ class companies suffered a loss by 4.37 points than the opening days to close at 277.89 points.
Nepal Investment Bank Limited is in the topmost position in terms of the turnover. Bank’s shares worth Rs 228,500,000 were traded in this period while the same bank held the topmost position in terms of the number of traded shares. Bank’s 396,000 shares were traded.
Generally, the share market remains open from Sunday to Thursday in a week.
