Kathmandu, May 26 (RSS): Binod Karki has been elected the Province-3 President of Nepal Trade Union Congress.
According to the vote count results made public on Friday evening, Kakri elected to the post by securing 266 votes. His arch rival Ganesh Bhattarai garnered 254 votes.
Among other elected are Govinda Dangol and Ghanashyam Chapagain (vice-president towards open category), Iswori Devi Laudari (vice-president towards woman category), Leelanath Chaulagain (vice-president towards service category), Birendra Bahadur Lama (vice-president towards production category), Kumar Prasad Poudel (vice-president towards informal category) and Rajesh Humagain (secretary).
Likewise, other elected include Prakash Dahal (secretary towards open category), Urmila Karki (joint secretary towards women category), Tulsi Prasad Adhikari (joint secretary towards service category), Narendra Manandhar (joint secretary towards production category), Bharat Prasad Adhikari (joint secretary towards informal category) and Tara Bhandari (joint treasurer).
Bishunu Hari Ghimire was already unanimously elected to the post of treasurer.
Talking to RSS, newly elected President Karki pledged to take special initiative in the areas of social security plan, health insurance, accident insurance and safe motherhood.
